Where are Your Thoughts?

I get a lot a great comments from a few followers, but I am looking for some challenging questions that give me the opportunity to search my mind and my soul for answers…..and offer some of my followers the same opportunity.

I don’t have all the questions, so how can I have all the answers..

Ask questions.  Don’t ask me questions……just ask questions!!!!

There is no such thing as a silly question – if you really want to know an answer to it.

It is not silly to ask why the sky is blue, if that question forces you to explore your environment to come up with an answer……which is exactly what scientists do.

It is not silly to ask why some of us are this way and others are that way.  That is why we have sociologists, psychologists, economists, theologians, and scientists……They all ask questions!!!!

Click this link to send me your questions: pc1stemail@gmail.com.          I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Read the Fine Print!

Cruise ship survivors and families of deceased passengers are being told that they have limited rights when it comes to suing Carnival (parent company of the cruise ship) for damages….

Watch this for the whole story..

Harsh Reality for Cruise Ship Survivors

This should be a lesson to all of us that we should be careful what we sign.  I know someone personally who owns a bed bug extermination company (bed bugs are a big problem in NYC) and makes his customers sign a disclaimer that is ridiculous.

The disclaimer basically says that they are not responsible for gross negligence of any sort and if the customer  chooses to sue them, they are responsible to pay THE COMPANY’S  legal fees!!!

Every single customer signs this disclaimer without reading it.

The owner of the company is a smooth talker and is a great salesman.  If he comes to your house, I guarantee that you will have bed bugs (whether you do or don’t)…and he guarantees that he will remove them using a new technology (bull…oney) and if they ever see any again he will exterminate them again (double bull..oney).

His disclaimer includes the fact that if anything happened differently from the time he leaves the premise until the time they rediscover the bed bugs, he is not obligated to keep his end of the guarantee.

I know some of you may think that I should report this guy – and I would love to, however, it would turn out to be a real sticky situation with a lot of people I know.

P.S. – This company is not really a bed bug extermination company.  I just used this industry as an example of the type of Company that this person owns….I am unable to expose the real service this guy “provides” due to the fact that it affects too many people… But the point still remains – READ THE FINE PRINT!!!!!!!!

Jealous or….. Just Uninterested?

Have you ever come across a situation where you don’t know how to respond because if you say what is on your mind in order to preserve the friendship, you may appear like you are “jealous”, but if you don’t say anything than you will not be able to stand being with that person for much longer?

I have had been put in this situation with someone who I, at one time of my life, considered a good friend.   I have made the decision to disconnect from this person permanently – because I decided that a “friend” who thinks that I am “jealous” of them – or – even worse, wants me to be jealous of them,  is not worth being friends with…if that’s what you call the relationship.

You know…the kind of friend that pretends like she would never date your boyfriend, but tries to catch his eyes when your not looking.

The kind of friend that spurts bullshit about themselves to appear more accomplished than they are.

The kind of friend that doesn’t stop talking about how guys (even though they are dating someone) can’t stop telling them how “hot” they are.

The kind of friend that comes to your house for coffee in high heels and full makeup while your sitting there in sweats – and they know that’s how you dress regularly.

The kind of friend that doesn’t like to mix friends for some unknown reason, but you know its because its too hard for them to keep which bullshit they tell which person straight.

The kind of friend that says they lost weight to make you mad…yes, this friend that I am talking about told me that.

What do you say to a friend like this that will make them understand that their behavior is not funny, cute or even tolerable   – without appearing like you are jealous of them?

High Points Sometimes Come at your Lowest Points

I am a little shocked, but apparently, I was picked as Editor’s choice of the day on bloggers.com.

I usually take the weekend off from posting, but I saw that my emails were going a little crazy so I checked up on them….and lo an behold…I am on the front page of Bloggers.com.

I titled this post as I did, because on Friday, I was not feeling it.  I was ready to throw the whole personal blog idea out the window.  I thought to myself why would anyone want to read my blog out of hundreds of thousands of blogs that are out there.

Apparently, bloggers.com felt my blog was readable and it is much appreciated.

The only thing I want to say besides thank you to bloggers.com, is this;  My site is called peaceful controversy for a reason.  I am waiting for your comments – no matter what they are – so that we can have a battle of wits.  I am not looking to win the battle……I am looking to turn the battle into the opportunity to evolve.

Thanks again to whom ever voted and supported my blog.

Peace be with everyone!!!!

Paparazzi are Like Annoying Co-workers – They Come with the Job

When a celebrity complains about paparazzi, I can’t help getting annoyed…

Spotlight=paparazzi.

Is there anything else to say about this subject?

I get the complaint.  I would be extremely annoyed if someone was in my face taking pictures every time I scratched my nose, but, I particularly am not an attention hog.  I happen to hate when anyone pays too much attention to me, because, eventually they are going to find something they can point a finger at.  It is a fact of life.

Celebrities like Paris Hilton, the Kardashians and others, are celebrities because they like attention and they will do whatever it takes (sex tape) to get it.  They need attention to feel loved.  I am not putting anyone down, they are just very different than me and the same way that they would think I must be nuts for being a little introverted, I can’t really understand why someone would trade their privacy for attention (and money).

But……to complain about what you have decided to take on, that is the thing that drives me crazy.  If you willingly put yourself in a position so that the whole world is going to know you and be fascinated by you – which, I would presume is exactly what you want, it seems a little….oh…I don’t know….stupid to complain later when its not as fun as you thought is was going to be – but yet, continue to expose every aspect of your life publicly.

I am using the Paris Hilton and the Kardashians as an example but the truth is that we are all guilty of this.  We all do things for certain monetary and/or social benefits, but we don’t take into consideration the downside involved. However, we don’t stop doing what we are doing because we want to continue receiving the perks and complain about the crappy part.   Sometimes, like in the case of a lot of celebrities, we manage to justify  the right to complain about these disadvantages as if there should be no disadvantages.  I love it when celebrities get so mad that the paparazzi is every where they go, they take them to court as if the paparazzi are violating their rights to privacy.

No, my dear famous person, you violated your own rights to privacy.

Life is a set of ups and downs and you can’t have one without the other.  Instead of trying to grab all the good and punishing others for the bad that you have to bear because of your own choices, how about changing the way you look at the situation and decide what you really want and go for it.

If you want your privacy, don’t become famous.  If you want to be famous – enjoy the fact that paparazzi love you and want to take your picture every where you go, pose for them and thank them for their time.

You Are Perfect – No Approval Necessary

We live in a world that puts a lot of emphasis on approval. Approval is needed down to what belt we wear on our jeans and what color our fingernails are. It seems so silly that we go to such great lengths to feel validated as individuals, but, unfortunately, this is the reality that we call life.

I never like to write something and not include myself when I am talking about human behavior, but in this particular instance, I fall on the total other end of the spectrum. I really don’t like it when someone gives me approval. For example, I get a little annoyed when someone “approves” of a meal I made for them – as if I gave it to them so they can tell me their opinion of it. I also get slightly annoyed when I get dressed up, which I don’t usually do, and anyone tells me I look nice – without me asking. Are they thinking that I needed their compliment in order to feel good about myself?
