Mind Over Matter – But Not Over Heart

02 Feb

“Neuroscientists have recently discovered exciting new information about the heart that makes us realize it’s far more complex than we’d ever imagined. Instead of simply pumping blood, it may actually direct and align many systems in the body so that they can function in harmony with one another.

These scientists have found that the heart has its own independent nervous system – a complex system referred to as “the brain in the heart.” There are at least forty thousand neurons (nerve cells) in the heart – as many as are found in various subcortical centers of the brain.

The heart communicates with the brain and the rest of the body in three ways documented by solid scientific evidence: neurologically (through transmissions of nerve impulses), biochemically (through hormones and neurotransmitters), and biophysically (through pressure waves). In addition, growing scientific evidence suggests that the heart may communicate with the brain and body in a fourth way – energetically (through electromagnetic field interactions). Through these biological communication systems, the heart has a significant influence on the function of our brains and all our Systems.

This new scientific evidence shows that the heart uses these methods to send our brain extensive emotional and intuitive signals. Along with this understanding that the heart is in constant communication with the brain, scientists are discovering that our hearts may actually be the “intelligent force” behind the intuitive thoughts and feelings we all experience.”

The rest of this article can be found at:  “Your Heart has a Brain!”

Yes, we all know that the heart feels stuff.  But did you know that it was wired neurologically, biochemically, biophysically AND energetically to communicate with our brain?

Did you know that our hearts may actually be the “intelligent force” behind our intuitive thoughts and feelings that we experience?

If this is true, then there is a lot to be learned here.  This implies that our thoughts get “filtered” through our hearts.  When we think, our heart has an opinion – and a very important one apparently.

This can be a good thing……..or a very bad thing – depending on the heart that has the opinion.

Are you generally a loving person?  Do you try and see the good side of people and the things they do?  If so, your heart (according to how I understand the information above) is going to “filter” your thoughts for the good stuff and live according to loving and understanding thoughts.  Your life is likely to be peaceful due to your peaceful thoughts.

What if you are not such a loving person?  What if you can’t stand anyone who moves the wrong way, makes too much noise, doesn’t look a certain way, isn’t the color you want him/her to be, doesn’t have the same opinions as you, doesn’t wear the clothes that you think they should wear, doesn’t speak the same language, doesn’t have a good job, doesn’t work as hard as you want them to, is not as smart as you, doesn’t go to the gym as much as you, doesn’t have the kind of haircut you like, isn’t the same religion as you, believes in God, doesn’t believe in God, is gay, is bisexual, is transgendered……….etc, etc, etc.:?

If this is a description of you – then your heart is telling your brain (and your mind – see For Those That Think Spirituality is for Cuckoos) to get rid of all the loving and peaceful thoughts…..and only approve the thoughts that are filled with dislike – or hate.

Filling your brain up with hate is not as simple as just have bad thoughts about others leaving you are free from harm.  If your brain is consumed with hate, that is all you will know.  You will only see (brain is neurologically connected to vision) bad in your life.  Everything will appear hateful to you.  Yes, you will identify all behavior with hate.  You will feel hated all the time – because you are consumed with hateful thoughts.

Yes, we all have hate in us.  It is a part of life.  We all struggle with defining ourselves one way and not liking the idea of someone being different then us.  When someone is different then us, it can feel threatening because we subconsciously think they invalidate who we are – or who we think we are.

If we can understand that we are OK – even with flaws that we may not like about ourselves, we will be more able to appreciate others and their flaws.

Yes, you have heard this before….but did you know that all of these functions are neurological, biochemical, biological, and energetic?

These functions are involuntary.  You must become conscious of these functions to cause them to be voluntary!

Yes – you can refrain from eating that piece of chocolate cake today and you can focus on making a lot of money this month (mind over matter)………. but you can’t control your heart….. unless you change the way it feels.
